Puffins is a RIBA award-winning three-bedroom house located in the attractive Cornish village of Treknow, within walking distance of the renowned beach at Trebarwith Strand. Designed by the architect Mike Macrae and the artist Sandie Macrae, it was completed in 2000.

A compact, but comfortable open-planned living room / kitchen / dining room forms the heart of the house. The room, with roof lights and vaulted ceilings, fills with natural light. It also has a wood burning stove which makes for a cosy space during winter and it has access on to a private courtyard garden. Internal finishes include polished concrete floors and slate worksurfaces. Further accommodation includes three bedrooms and a bathroom. The house has a solar panel for water heating with back-up from an immersion heater.

The house is located in the small village of Treknow, one mile south of Tintagel. The cliff is 400 metres away and from the cliff it is a 10 minutes walk to the beach at Trebarwith Strand. Trebarwith beach is excellent for surfing and swimming.  The nearby cliff walks are wonderful, as are those at nearby Bodmin Moor. Close by is a very good pub, The Mill, which also houses an excellent restaurant. Further facilities can be found at Camelford and Tintagel.
